POSITION TITLE: Data Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Administration
REPORTS TO: Managing Director & Senior Technical Advisor

JOB SUMMARY

The data coordinator under the supervision of the managing director / senior technical advisor, will be responsible for all data related activity which includes but is not limited to; analyzing, disseminating and researching. The core responsibility of the incumbent will be to liaise with the HIV/AIDS Coordinating Unit with the aim of developing and maintaining reports. The incumbent will also be responsible for reconciling data disseminated from the Patient Electronic Medical Records (CELLMA), ensuring that it meets the quality standards for PEPFAR report indicators, while working closely with the staff from MRFTT.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To execute the job successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

DATA COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS

  • Analyze clinical data using appropriate statistical tools and evaluate the data to assist in reconciling conflicts and support data disaggregation to improve reporting.
    • Clean, analyze, manipulate and process large sets of data using statistical software.
    • Create graphs, charts, or other visualizations to convey the results of data analysis using specialized software.
    • Prepare appropriate formatting to data sets as requested.
    • Design forms for collection, processing, or tracking of data.
  • Generate data queries, based on validation checks or errors and omissions identified during data entry, to resolve identified problems.
    • Manage the preparation, maintenance and administration of all data generated from the Patient Electronic Medical Records (CELLMA),

DATA USE AND REPORTING

  • Maintain data integrity and security aligned with the data sharing policy and patient confidentiality protocols at the MRFTT.
  • Develop reports, dashboards and metrics to monitor performance, by utilizing quantitative analysis.
  • Deliver oral or written presentations of the results of data analysis to management or other end users, to provide insight and support decision making.
  • Liaise with Ministry of Health HIV and AIDS Coordinating Unit and participate in data validation exercises to support the data mining and validation of PEPFAR Quarterly Monitoring Evaluation and Reporting (MER) indicators.
  • Work closely with staff to ensure accuracy, completeness, or proper usage of clinical systems and data

Required Qualifications

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics\Computer Science or a related field with the relevant experience required.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of three to five (3-5) years’ experience in a research and statistical environment
  • Analytical or scientific software – SPSS, STATA
  • Data base reporting software – SQL Loader
  • Data base user interface and query software – Microsoft Access; Relational database software
  • Compiling and analyzing data
  • Experience working in the health sector will be an asset
